EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
THE 25 largest labor union locals in L.A. County count 543,000 members as of 2005, the most recent year for which data is available. This figure is up less than 1 percent from the previous year. Local chapters of the Service Employees International Union dominates the list as before with six of the top 12 locals. SEIU United Long-Term Care Workers' Union 6434 continues to lead the list, although the local changed its name as of Jan. 1 to reflect its merger with other home care workers throughout the state.
