20 Years that Changed Los Angeles - Los Angeles Business Journal publication

The Los Angeles Business Journal began operating in 1979. Actual news was not its strength at the time. Its sale to developer Larry Bridges in 1988 was to mark a considerable turn for the better in the paper's fortunes. Under a new publisher, the paper became more aggressive and its readership increased substantially. In 1996, much of its editorial operations were restructured and more resources were invested on the weekly special reports, which helped transform the weekly newspaper into more of a magazine-type publication.
